Launch of updated ADRTNHS website on September 2nd 2008
The new look and updated website was relaunched in August 2008. This now contains a public and patient section. Further additional resources will be available later in 2008 including national Patient Information Leaflets about Advance Decisions and Care Planning. The site remains free to use with no restrictions on access. It keeps it’s “contact us” at info@adrtnhs.co.uk although this is not a clinical advice line. |
National Launch of Advance Decisions to Refuse Treatment – a Guide for Health and Social Care Professionals 2008
The End of Life Care Programme and National Council for Palliative Care in partnership ADRT Project Team (East Midlands) launched this Guide, new website and additional resources on the 2nd September 2008 in Derbyshire, supported by Derbyshire County PCT. This initiative was funded by the End of Life Care Programme, Social Care Institute of Excellence and Help the Hospices.
Dr Ben Lobo, National Clinical Lead for Advance Decisions to Refuse Treatment (Chair of ADRT Project East Midlands) and local Director of Clinical Medicine, Derbyshire Community Health Services presented the Guide and demonstrated the new website. |
Finalists Health and Social Care Awards 2008
The ADRT Project Team was a finalist in the Health and Social Care Awards 2008 (East Midlands) in the Dignity in Care category. The ADRT Team were honoured with this achievement.
Dr Ben Lobo (Chair of ADRT Project Team) said, “We never set out to look for awards. As dedicated healthcare professionals our reward was to see that people (patients, carers, professionals) knew more about this new law and were able to use it to protect their choice when it mattered, helping to achieve dignity especially for those people with a terminal illness.” |
