Mission Statement
The purpose of the ADRT Training Programme is to produce training and guidance for health and social care professionals on Advance Decisions to Refuse Treatment (Mental Capacity Act 2005). We are committed to help prepare professionals and organisations to support people wishing to make an ADRT. This is an integral component of an individuals planning for the future, as professionals we must respect their autonomy, privacy and dignity.
We remind users that despite our efforts to quality assure this Guidance and Training by clinical, ethical and legal consultation, some parts of the Mental Capacity Act and Code of Practice remain untested in court with specific regard to ADRT. We can not accept liability for actions taken by individuals who have visited this web site and direct people and professionals to resolve complex issues at a local level.
